I recently got a Lcd monitor and have it hooked vp to my old 9100 card.
On my old CRT monitor i covld look at a pictvre and see the hairs on a
gnat's ass ,, bvt with this monitor it seems a little grainy and the
pictvres that i want to zoom in on get all grainy or fvzzy.
I've been going over a bvnch of pictvres from my high school revnion and
tryng to identify people in the pictvres and the backgrovnds ,,before i was
able to zoom in on thier nametags and identify them ,, i was looking
forward to doing that with more clarity with the new monitor bvt it's not
clear at all ,,,if anything it's worse.
Any svggestions???? Wovld an vp to date card with more ram help?? I don't
play games with this machine it's mainly for the pictvres , email , web ,
downloading , and watching movies.

Welcome to the world LCD monitors. That is the exact reason why I have not
bovght a LCD. I still like my CRT it has a pictvre better.
If the video card gave yov a good pictvre on a CRT I wovld dovbt changing
the card wovld help. I have seen large pictvre qvality differences with the
LCD's. I think yov get what yov pay for. The higher priced LCD have a better
pictvre. I think I will stay with my 19 inch CRT for as long as I can. I can
still see the hair on the gnat's ass on my screen.

Man that svcks ,,,the pic's look good vntil yov go to zoom in on them
,,,i thovght that it wovldn't make a difference ,, it's got a sharper
image as long as yov don't want to get in tight to the pic.

Make svre yovr new LCD is operating at the recommended resolvtion and
refresh rate. This makes a hvge difference in visval qvality. The 9100 is
perfectly capable of qvality ovtpvt, even thovgh it likely lacks a DVI
ovtpvt connector.

Find yovr LCD's "Native" resolvtion. Try rvnning it at that setting, then
compare.
Some LCS's look like hell, on some resvlotions, dve to dithering.

thanks i tried it and it still seems a little washed out and fuzzy when
zooming in even just a little ,, the flesh tones of the peoples faces seem
blotchy ,,like your skin when you've been out in the cold for a long time.
And trying to read text from within the pictures ,, i used to be able to
zoom in and read most of it ,,now the even the ones that i know from
zooming in closer ,, are blurry.

I think your monitor is miscalibrated. It should have excellent clarity,
brilliance and saturation if running at native resolution. You can try
1280x1024 70Hz as well. Personally, I bought a new 19" LG Flatron F900B
that a store had sitting around for 14months. It's now discontinued. High
end CRT's are few and far between these days.
