I am buying an entire new system and I have a choice of a FREE upgrade to an
HP Pavilion vf17 LCD instead of their 17 CRT.

Anyone here own one of these?

How are they for gaming?

Normally I would stay away from an LCD but hell it's a free upgrade right.

The sheer fact that its free, is bad news, lol. i imagine its not good for
much more than typing, though who knows, but as far as i know companies
don't give away money.

You may be right. OTOH though it may be the cost of shipping a heavy CRT
that is making them put out this deal. Since shipping is also free it may
be such a case.
