More info?)
I just took my VE card out.....again. I have had it work in the past, but
no more. Its more of a hassle to my system than its worth. I get a
scrambled tv picture no matter what efforts are taken. Im using a 9800 pro
also with mine.
What you may of have done is have it using the composite instead of the
cable input. When it starts, it defaults to one or the other. If no tv
signal is picked up the first time you set it up, it will default to
composite and not even recognize the tv/cable as an option. A real pain. I
often uninstall the software and re-install it. That way I ensure it will
try to check "everything" when I start it. If not, I get the "greyed out"
option for the cable in the properties for the program. Another program
that is free and loved by many others is DScaler. Do a google for it.
When/if my card did work, it was a superior picture and performance.
To note, Im using WinXP Pro. I have also tried the card on my other systems
and get mixed results on each one. Often quite different. The VE is a
troubled kid, sorry to not be more optimistic. Im now looking into the usb
version of their newer tv/capture card. I have enough pc power to deal with
it now.
good luck,
sl
