9700 Pro Defaults, etc

I've always been overclocking my 9700 Pro to 351/330. Lately, in some
of the newer games, I've seen some graphical glitches so I want to
throttle back somewhat -- maybe even to its default settings. The
problem is that I've forgotten what the default settings are. Can
someone help me out with this?

Also, I've never had these graphics glitched until now. They've become
apparent in 2 racing games - GTR and the GTP Mod for Nascar 2003. Is
this an indication that the card is starting to go? Or is it just that
newer games are more demanding graphically?

If the card is starting to fail, what card do you suggest I upgrade to?
I play mostly racing games and some flight sims, and have been running
them at 1024x768. System is AthlonXP2600, 1 Gig RAM.

Thanks.

The 9700 pro defaults ( for the built by ATI) are
Core=324 MEM=303.75

That said mine defaults to 324/310.50.

Luck;

Look it up in any archived 9700Pro review online.

Are you using the stock heat sink/fan unit? More likely either the fan is
spinning slower due to dirt buildup, or the thermal pad/grease has
deteriorated with age, resulting in higher temps.

The card is fine. If you really want to upgrade, get a 6600GT.

what drivers are you using ? on my 9700np the 4.8s are rock steady but later
drivers are a bit glitchy and I find I cant overclock the card the same. try
the 4.8s and see how you get on. I wont be touching the 5 series as theyre
aimed at X series cards and not 9xxx users.
