I am unable to run newly installed software on Windows XP Home. When I double
click on the icon after installation nothing happens. Programs installed a
few months ago continue to work fine.

Can anyone help?

You may not have permission. Are you logged on with administrator priviledges?

If you have more than one account on your machine, you may need to log on as
Administrator, or whatever account has privivledges. If you want to give the
other account such priviledges, you can do so at Start>Control Panel> User
accounts.

Or, you may have a nasty virus. Good luck. Panda activescan
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

and housecall.trendmicro.com are both good online scanners.
