Trouble with ATI AIW 9600XT? Try this.

First, I am not a gamer; bought the card strictly to use for controlled
viewing of recorded video.

I tried everything using the update/upgrade files from ATI, including
installing from a reformatted HD, all of which failed to operate
correctly if it operated at all. I finally found a solution that seems
to work for all advertised modes, something I wouldn't normally have
tried because everyone knows that users must have the latest and
greatest upgrades/updates or it's all a waste of technology.

Having bought a 'boxed' ATI brand card, it came with a CD which, when
used on a clean NEW install worked right out of the box for all modes.
Amazing, never tried that before. Whoever said that: "If it ain't
broke, don't upgrade it",knew what they were talking about.

Try it, it may work for you too.
