Hi All,
Just upgraded from an iPAQ 3630 to a 5555. Redownloaded and reinstalled all
software. Checked my AvantGo account, and made new hardware selection. I
keep trying to access AvantGo channels, with very limited success. Never
had a moment's problem on my 3630, but the 5555 has now been looking for the
AvantGo start page for five minutes now with no success.
Anyone else having any problems with AvantGo on a 5555?
(BTW, I've already done the soft reset, delete then reinstall hardware with
AvantGo, and then soft reset again. Didn't make a difference...)
The first time that you select the AvantGO option in your ActiveSync it will
copy a few dlls to your PPC in the next synchronization but for some reason,
in some cases it does not do that. So basically, this solution does is to
enforce the installation of those files.
Like I said, it's easy to find out if AvantGO is installed in a brand new
PPC, all you have to do is look for the avantgo.dll in the \Windows folder.
You wont find this file. Supposedly by checking the box in AS this files and
other two or three dlls will be copied to your PPC, but for some reason this
does not happens always, and that's the reason why you find people
complaining about AvantGO not working in PPCs with WM2k3.
Click on top of the cab file, it will ask you if you want to replace some
files, say no to all.
After that, go to ActiveSync, avantgo properties, and fill your name and
password there, and select the option to refresh all.
