Hi
Now I see my computer can handle the Half Life 2 demo I will be buying the
full game. Do I just leave the demo where it is and carry on installing the
full game, or do I need to uninstall the demo? I can only see uninstall
Steam listed.

This had been my doubt, also, when I went to install HL2.
To be sure, I uninstalled Steam and started the installation of
HL2, but now I can connect to my steam account unless I connect
to internet, everytime I play, and this is damn boring...
So, if I have to express an opinion, I'd say "let it there, don't
touch it", but I didn't try that way, so take my words with 2
grains of salt.

When I installed the full version, the demo was removed.

If you tick the "Offline Mode" box then steam will not attempt to connect to
the internet and as long as you have the option to save your password ticked
you will go into Half Life2 without connecting to the net.

What he said. Valve realised that if people upgrade to the full version
of HL2, the demo became redundant. How nice of them.
