Have computer with ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro, WIN XP Pro + SP2 and all
updates. Computer is very unstable. Frequently computer crashes.
Event Viewer first shows warning that describes error as: "SRB command
failed - SRB_GET_DEVICE_PROPERTY" Source is ati2mtag, Category WDM.

Immediately following warning event, get Event Error described as: "The
kmdpl service failed to start due to the following error. The system
cannot find the file specified." Source is Service Control Manager,
Category - none.

Thanks for all responses!

Did complete de-install of all ATI drivers and programs. Then
installed latest ATI software including Catalyst 5.5. Everest
indicates that ATI Video driver ati2dvag is 6.14.10.6546; Catalyst
Control Center is 1.2.1949.42406; ATI Decoder is 4.00; ATI Display
Driver is 8.132-050503a2-022511c-ATI; ATI Multimedia Center is 9.08 &
ATI Remote Wonder is 3.02. Problem remains.

Ok, sounds like the capture driver. Do you know what driver release you
have installed?

Well, I don't think KMDPL is related to the ATI drivers.

Regarding the SRB message, I am of the opinion that it relates to the remote
software, but I don't know what the resolution is, sorry.

Not much use really! Sorry.
