Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin (More info?)
On most PCs it is possible to remove any BIOS passwords by removing the
motherboard battery or by temporarily installing a jumper. Check the IBM PC
support website for further info on how to do this for your specific PC.
Once you have access to the BIOS, then you can change the boot order, and
boot first from floppy, then CD, and last the internal hard drive.
Next, get some password reset software. These run either from floppy or CD.
Thus, the need to first be able to set the boot order. A google search
should lead you to several options, some free, some shareware. Here is one
of the free ones: http://home.eunet.no/%7Epnordahl/ntpasswd/editor.html
