If I'm allowed to cheat - it's easy, the 1.33 T-Bird with 2GB DDR. That puppy has over $2000 of memory in it that I can re-sell nicely. Get a lot of nice add on goodies for my current 1.33 AMD system, then once the MP boards are stable I'll have a nice pair of 1.33s to drop into a dual board and off we go - wahey!!!!
Now - if you asked, what PC would I choose to keep and is the fastest? The 2G P4 is going to take the cup on this, assuming it is Northwood of course. The HDD you can upgarede for almost no $$ and another few hundred for a decent graphics card doesn't worry me either. Of course the A4 and 2G P4 don't exist yet either...

Ahh, not yet invented is not quite the truth though. These things are being developed as we speak. They are far enough along into the design process that engineering samples almost have to have been produced by now. It may not be the officially released retail production hardware, but I would setting for engineering samples that show promise.
I am almost sure that if you knew the right people and had enough money, you could purchase the parts for such a system today. After all, everyone has their price.
-Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
i'd get the 2.0 ghz p4, and then sell it for a shitload of money. then i'd buy a top of the line palamino w/ a vapochill case, and overclock it to 2.0 ghz!!!!
