Hey,

Is there any way to turn the graphic content/gore settings down on the
Half Life 2 demo? I couldn't find anything in the menu to that effect.
Maybe there's a console cheat for it or something? Thanks in advance
for any help...

No. I think you might be able to disable the decals in the engine which
would probably disable blood marks on objects/walls, but that would
remove bullet holes, scorch marks and other things. I don't even know if
that's possible to remove in the Source engine, except that other
engines have the ability to disable decals.

As for a specific way to disable gore, there is no such setting. It's
not exactly a kids game, so what's the big deal?

Half Life 2, although exciting and yes, violent, is actually not at all
gorey, compared to so many other games... *cough, Doom3*... Personally I
feel if you're giving a game to a child where he runs around shooting living
beings with guns, he should be forced to see the gore, less he be ignorant
of the true damage he could cause with a real weapon.

In defence of the OP, I do think Ravenhold can be considered kinda
violent, what with the saw-blade decapications and all. I can't remember
any decapitaions in D3 at all.

Agree with GFree - don't know about anywhere else but in the UK the game
has been given a classification of 15 meaning it should not be supplied
to anyone below that age (including I guess by parents).

Even better was the part where the zombies get burned. Not really gorey at
all but the sound they make is spine-chilling!
