Hello again to everyone in cyberspace and beyond. I'm writing again –
this time from the heart of the Rockies. Let me tell you – the
feelings I have been experiencing are intense. The United States is
one beautiful country – and there are many other beautiful countries
on the agenda.

Peep the update-----

The open road awaits!

Geor, errrr Pedro, what's happened to your member's page?

http://www.angeltowns2.com/members/sigma

That was where your SigmaOnTour site was redirected to. It no longer
exists.

If anyone wants to see what a real web photo diary looks like, nothing
to do with Sigma but quite a lot to do with Minolta digital cameras,
have a look at:

http://www.friedmanarchives.com/

and start at the beginning of Gary Friedman's Chinese diary, and read
it. It is a work of some literary merit (i.e., worth reading!), it's
amusing, it has great humanity and shows respect for all the friends and
subjects of photographs, it tells us something about working in China
today, and the images are just what they need to be.

The Pedro Verne 'round the world in 80 lies' scam is scary only because
it shows how easy it would be to do the same thing properly, and
genuinely fool people. Pedro might well have to stick with night shots
all the time, since pictures with sudden expected changes of season (not
to mention occasional lapses of a year or two) would be a real giveaway.

We can be fairly sure that when he makes it to New York, the Twin Towers
will still be standing in his first posted skyline shot.

I particularly liked the scenic shot entitled "resolution_chart".

Great colour, great composition.

A competition winner if ever I saw one.

I don't think there was any doubt about that.

Huh? The Mustang pilot?

This "Pedro Verne" obviously never checks back
to see what people have replied to his posts.

David,
That story of Gary's is awesome. It almost makes you feel as if you were
right there with him. Experiencing the whole thing. He did an excellent
job of telling the story. Anyone who is even remotely interested of what
China is like today should read it. But, I will tell you that it will take
at least 3 or 4 hours to go through the whole thing. It is very long (and
worth every minute though).
I had no idea what was happening there. The most you ever hear is of
tidbits and stories that don't do it justice. And for him to actually say
it's safer there than in the US ! Wow... that's gotta get some attention.
