After I have downloaded SP2 and some additional updates, I am not able to
download files/updates from www.apple.com. Is there some glitch or do I need
to reset some of the settings so that it will let me download from their
site? (I'm trying to download ipod updater but the login and download
buttons do not load)

More about : settings glitch sp2

Well, if I knew what settings to look for I would. I have been looking into
this all day and for the life of me, cannot figure out why it's not working.
HELP?

So you go here:
http://tinyurl.com/7ye8

And the Download iPod Software Update at the bottom is... not there or won't
click or..?

I actually got "Your Current Security Settings do not allow this file to be
downloaded.."
Which means that page has been blacklisted on some list I have used
(IE-SpyAd, SpywareBlaster, Spybot Search and Destroy..)

The direct download, BTW, is:
http://appldnld.m7z.net/content.info.apple.com/iPod/ww/...

Close all Internet Explorer Windows..

Start --> Run --> RegEdit
Look here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

Look for:

m7z.net

Delete it.

Open Internet Explorer, go to the page above - work now?

The login and download buttons are simple GIF images. Go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced. Scroll down to the Multimedia section and make sure that Show pictures is checked. Close and re-open IE and try the download again.

I checked on this and the "show pictures" box was already checked! Ok, now
what can I check for?? This is crazy.

The link brought me to the same page I've been having problems with. It does
not load properly. The login or download buttons are not there, there are no
links, no pictures, nothing.

I did not have the m7z.net file in regedit, so couldn't delete it, obviously.

I'm sure the link will work directly, it did when someone sent me the direct
link for the iTunes program, but there is a deeper problem here and I'd like
to resolve it.

Do the other images on the page load?

Also, Shenan gave you a direct link to the download and it works here, so if you really need the program now, go ahead and download it.

Yes, the other images load. It appears more and more that the download and
login are part of a java script?? A couple people have mentioned this to me.
I don't know how to fix that.

No, I've looked at the source code of the page. The Sign In button is a simple GIF file. The Download button is a standard form button. There should be no java script involved in either of these.

Does that make sense that the buttons are GIFs? How else can this get
resolved?

Yes, GIFs make great buttons, since they can be nice and pretty pictures. However, the Download button is not a graphic, its a standard form button, so I fail to see why it wouldn't display properly. There's no script magic behind it.
