I have just installed the following drivers from the www.ati.com site:

9-08_mmc_enu.exe
9-08_mmc_uci.exe

Now everytime I try and start up any on the multimedia apps i get an
error:

ATIMMC.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience.

In the eventlog I get:

I am having the exact same problem.
Also it says I don't have DMA enabled but I do!
I have double triple checked.....
Please, someone help!

same problem here, But my mmc.exe don't crash. I've read that it a
common problem and it should be ignored... Also the mmc is only a
bundle of program to manage your videos and photos, joint to a dvd
program player. If it bug remove it and use some other program that
work well. AIW and vivo card imo are just a video-in hardware. There
is nothing more there. Try Nero. Or uleadstudio 9. i've read that it
has some good program for dxva and other stuff. i don't know if it can
backup your dvd's but. check-it out.

I couldn't find 9-08_mmc_enu.exe and 9-08_mmc_uci.exe on ati.com, any idea where to get it from?
