I'm running an HP a8410n (AMD Athlon 64 +3300). When I originally added the
Wonder Pro, the box was using the built-in SiS 760 graphics adaptor with
512 meg of RAM (128 meg shared for video), DirectX 9 was installed. Great
picture & reception. I've since added a Radeon 9550 graphics card with 256
meg of RAM of its own, plus 512 meg more for a total of 1 gig of regular
RAM. Which got me beter picture. I'm using an indoor antenna. But that's
not my question.

I have the machine set up as a dual boot, XP & Xandros 3.01 linux, with TV
Time giving the best picture & reception. If I boot into linux, picture &
reception varies, with huge audio static on the UHF channels. The ATI
software, under XP, doesn't have these problems. And, if I boot into XP,
run the Mutltimedia Center software, then restart & boot into linux, TV
Time has much better reception & picture, no UHF audio static. So, what is
the ATI software (maybe plus DirectX?) doing to hardware settings that TV
Time isn't?
