I'm getiing dsl soon and want to set it up so it can be shared by two of my comps
Anyone here can gimme instructions on how to set this up?
both of my pc's have NIC

If you have Windows 98SE and above then you can just use internet connection sharing.

A lot of external modem have usb connection.

My roommate and I have a shared DSL setup. It works wonders. Router + DSL modem + 2 network adapter cards. With new Windows (post Win95) it's not too bad to setup.

well, thanks but does that means if i hook up both of my pcs via NIC to the modem and do some configuration and its should work?
will i still have both of my pcs on LAN for networked gaming and swapping files
i'm pretty amatuer on this networking stuff

i got a windows 98se(p2450 mhz 224mbrampc100)comp and a windows ME(p41.8ghz, 512 sdram)comp
can anyone gimme instrutions to setup this sharing thing
if i got the right hardware?

if you're going to us an ethernet based modem, don't mess around with ICS, just go with a router.

well well what about if i wanna share a dialup then(LOL)
as i said, i got both computers hooked up to a LAN and one of them got its modem fried

I'm confused. You just told me I didn't read your original post, that it was DSL. Now you're saying it's dialup? Which one is it?

sorry man i'm a little confused too :-)

okay forget about the question but i'm certainly getting DSL within this few weeks and if i wanna share it thru lan all i need is 2 NIC's and a router withougth messing up geeky stuffs?
