Hy folks!

I hope there is anyone who can help me out of my problem. I played
around with my ipaq an now the battery is not activated any more. So I
looked around in the faqs and all I found was the hard reset. "You have
to hold down ... until the display fades away..." But as my ppc does
not have an activated battery, I do not have the time to hold it down
for 4 seconds or more because it turns off before. And as there is no
possibility to perform a hard reset on the cradle I have no chance to
reactivate my battery.

Thanx for giving me a word-around.
Julian

What do you mean by saying "battery is not activated any more"?
Does your PDA power on? Does it run from the battery or only with the
charger hooked up?
If only with the charger, then your battery is probably dead!

There is nothing like "activating battery" on iPAQ 5450.

I had to "reactivate" my battery when I first got it - I kept doing things
to break it (well - not really break - just learn how to fix it when things
go wrong, before it became my primary device . . .)

On the 5400 User Reference Manual - page 2-39 "Reactivating the Battery"

1. Remove and reinstall the battery.
2. Connect the iPAQ to AC Power (in the cradle)
3. Press the normal Reset Button.

This will "reactivate" the battery.

Hope this helps.

You can apply power by using the adapter supplied with the recharger, that
way you can get access to the reset button.

Doh! - you got me there - did I really say (in the cradle)? don't know how
that got in there.

I hadn't had to do it since a week or two after I got it, so forgot now -
I'm so use to using the cradle for everything, and don't even know where the
adapter plug is anymore.

Thanks for setting that comment straight.
