Hi,
Is it possible to back up the calendar, contacts, etc
without actually syncing the information with Outlook? I
basically just want a backup of the database or pst file
or whatever is actually used for storage, but don't want
to mix this with my outlook data.

You can use the built-in backup function or use a commercial program like
Sprite backup. You can backup to internal memory or a memory card.
