Umax Astra 430 problems with SD card

I've a v cheap Astra 430 with 16(?)mg memory, which is great fun and dead
easy to use.
I've just bought a 64mgSD card for it. It recognised it instantly the
pictures stacked up but when I come to download it has so far shown only 1,
2, 3, 4 and 12 out of the 14 pictures.

It'll transfer the pictures to my graphics programme (more often than not)
but it will not download them to a file nor does it delete them from the
camera's memory. If I remove the SD card everything works normally.

I've always found the driver with my XP to be a bit flakey but it works.

Umax is trying to help but suggested it was a USB problem. I think not.

I bought the card from PC World.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. Best I can tell there is no updated driver.
