i recently got a new computer and moved all of my videos onto it. the problem i'm having is with my .avi videos, they do not play in media player, i cannot encode them in my dvd burning software (neo, i think), and i can't even open them in cucosoft to convert them into mpeg.
the error message i get is as follows "File 'F:\'nameofvideo.avi' can not open, or unsupported."
i could play all of these videos on my old computer, in media player, and now i'm getting nothing. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You can try downaoding the latest codecs for media player. To convert avi to Mpeg use TMPGenc..the software is free.
