how to compare frames within a video?

Hello,

Can andbody help in finding a way to compare frames (images) within a
videofile? I have to compare frames. I should be able to find out how much
of a frame changed compared to a previous frame.
I also need the information where in the frame there was this "change"
This information should be logged in a textfile.
