It appears that when using dualview with a laptop
fullscreen mode is always sent to the laptop screen,
regardless of which screen the program was running on.
(However, maximizing windows always leaves the window in
the same screen.) This is a major nuisance since one of
the major points of having an external monitor is to be
able to use it, rather than the small laptop screen, for
things like slide shows, editing, etc. But any time one
of these programs switches to fullscreen, the window moves
back to the (inferior) laptop screen. Ironcially, the
setup program for my external monitor uses full screeen
mode, so it does not run on the monitor it is supposed to
be setting up! Any suggestions on how to get fullscreen
on my second monitor? Is this a known bug/problem in XP?

P.S. Switching to clone mode is not really an acceptable
solution since it is quite inconvenient and the screen
settings must apply to both monitors.

Thanks!

This sounds like a graphics card driver problem. Have you checked for any
updates?

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I do have the most current
drivers, and there is a way to force the primary screen to
be the external monitor using the advanced ATI display
settings, but Windows clearly gets confused as to which
monitor is where when I do this. For example, only
resolution settings available to the laptop are available
to the external monitor. I think the real problem is that
it is fighting Windows when it does this since Windows help
says:

Dualview is very similar to the multiple monitor feature,
with the exception that you cannot select the primary
display. On a portable computer, the primary monitor is
always the LCD display screen.

The real problem is that fullscreen insists on going to the
primary monitor, which seems strange. I think it's a
design flaw and/or a bug. Is there some way to get
fullscreen to open on the second monitor?
