Ever since I upgraded Media Player to Version 9, I keep
having the following problem: Whenever I play any MP3
file, it seems like the Media Player freezes (hangs), even
though I am actually hearing the MP3 file play! After a
random period of time, THEN Media Player will show
activity. However, the next problem occurs with the
visualizations. Regardless of which one I choose, the
visualization will either 'freeze' while the MP3 file
plays, or if the visualization shows any activity, the
sound then will become 'choppy'... Seems it can handle
either one, but not BOTH at the same time...
My system is currently the following: I have a Compaq
5451 system with a Giga-Byte 5SMM motherboard with the
latest bios (running at 100 Mhz), AMD K6-2 500 MHz
processor, built-in ESS SOLO-1 ES1938S PCI sound, with 524
MB of RAM, One 40 GB Main HD and a 13 GB HD (connected to
the Primary IDE port with the 40 GB as master and the 13
GB as slave), a DVD-R/RW Drive connected to the Secondary
IDE Port, and a GeoForce PCI Video Card.
Any information that can help will be extremely
appreciated...
