Waiting to see prices on newegg ;P

They aren't up yet. I think the magic price point will be around $150 at 256gb with 300 read / write. If they hit that they would make a killing this xmas season.

It won't be $150 for 256GB. The current price on Amazon is $200 for 128GB.

At Amazon the Kingston V200 256 GB SSD is $460

I'll have to pass due to the price. I look forward to even better, faster SSD's with a 10 year warranty. I'll be more interested when SSD's are competitively priced with HD's.

When will SSD's support SATA 4 and PCIe 3.0 ?

Just watch out with any SSD drive with SandForce chip set, the encrypt the data and Sandforce will no provide any assistance to data recovery companies to recover this drive, so if you want you data do no use sandforce SSD drives

With floods on Thailand in few months prices will become competitive because HDD will catch up on SSD.

Does Kingston offer any high-performance drives, something that would compete well with the Vertex 3's numbers?

V200 is a very bad SSD, use v100 or V series only. THe V200 has defective firmware, and onl offeres 30-50MB/ps write speed. the older versions perform better. And the 64GB model is very slow. So stay away from V200 until Kingston releases new firmware. THey said it should be out sometimes in Jan. They could of stuck with the same toshiba controller in the V100, and they wouldn't of had this problem, but instead they released a new product without proper testing. And the firmware is v1.0. THey said 'its in its baby state'.
