question about the orginal Half Life.

I have completed Half-Life2 and am now playing the original Half-life. I am
in the episode Lambda Core. I am near the end. I have picked up the long
jump module. How do I do a long jump? is there a keyboard key that I have to
press in order to do a long jump? Trying to jump into the portal but can't
jump far enough.

Yep, if ya had done the "Hazard Course" as recommended you'd know....
The keys are Duck, run, then jump while holding down the duck key....

Run-duck-jump. But you don't need to long-jump into the portal.
I don't even recall having to jump. Just make sure you wait until
the scientist says it's ready.
