My 2215 insists on dialing a particular number whenever the bluetooth
is enabled, popping up and blocking my GPS navigation screen. Very
annoying when driving.

It also insists on placing a 454 code in front of the number. I have
no idea where that code is. I never set that up. How do I disable this
automatic dialling?

When my mobile phone is on it connects but obviously can't get through
to this phoney number.

TIA.

Richard.

Just thinking out loud here:
on the iPAQ - open ActiveSync, then tap on Tools, then on the Schedule Tab -
I'm wanting to think that there's an option to automatically sync every so
many minutes that needs to be unchecked. I've not used bluetooth on mine,
and frankly, never set up the dialing on it, except to test the CF card
modem just to see if it would work.

That is probably the most logical setting that's initiating the dialling.

To fix the 454 number you see, open Contacts, tap Tools | Options and change
the area code.

Thanks,

But this has nothing to do with my Activesync connection.

It only happens when the bluetooth is enabled and away from the PC,
and mostly, but not always, when using a GPS.

Richard.

The option that clevelandtech described is there to allow remote ActiveSync
to a server.

There are two options that control this. The first is on Tools | Options |
PC tab "Use mobile schedule to sync with this PC".

The next set of options are on Tools | Options | Mobile Schedule tab. "When
syncing wirelessly..." and then you have the option of syncing every 5, 10,
15 minutes and so on.

If the first option is set and the Schedule is different of manual, your
Pocket will try to connect. If you have Bluetooth it'll try dialing out
using the default connection. Check those options.
