I have just received my PPC2002 -> WM2003 upgrade CD for my Upaq 3970,
but when I run the upgrade it fails with error 100 because I have the
wrong ROM. I'm on ROM V2.10 which is the latest listed on HP/Compaq's
Web site but the upgrade says I need to be on V3.00 before I can proceed.

I have found other messages referring to the error but no solutions. I
wonder whether I have the right CD - it says it's the upgrade for the
Ipaq 3900 series.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When the CD runs it just gives two options - to upgrade to WM2003 or
reinstall PPC2002 - I've even tried a re-install of 2002 and that
refuses to run. I wonder if I've been sent the wrong CD?

Well, as I look at my CDROM is supposed to automatically figure out
which unit you have. If you check the learn more ipaq resources the
first entry should have the Bluetooth fixes listed. Otherwise I don't
know what the problem could be. I suggest you contact HP. Mine reported
2.1 on 2002 as well so it should work ok.

Thanks for the reply - I have confirmed I have been sent the wrong CD -
it's old stock and only for the 3950.

Replacement CD arrived today - installed first time without a hitch and
I'm upgraded! All I had to do was download some new drivers for my CF
LAN card and I'm up and running - all that's left is to reinstall all my
software!
