Does anyone have any idea why this could be. I insert my 4th stick of ram to bring it to 4gigs...and i get Unidentified Network, cant connect to network at all. Removed it and regained internet access..very weird.

intel pro/1000 gt wired
ga-m61p-s3 motherboard

thanks

going to try the vista 64 chipset drivers for my motherboard :??:

look for a new NIC driver instead. Chipset drivers don't include NIC drivers.

yeh intel doesnt support win7 on that card...other users on newegg report it works on win7 (as it is for me)..but when i put in 4th memory stick it swaps to unidentified network.

i suppose i could try the vista 64 drivers on it, but i dont understand how the ram would affect lan an nothing else. I'll try swapping in an old linksys 100mbps card i found last night as well, if it works in win7 i may just stick w/ that.

In most cases, Windows Vista drivers will work under 7 if the manufacturer doesn't specifically have a download section for 7.

not really sure what else to do now. Memory diagnostics turn up fine..runs fine w/ 4sticks/gigs....but "unidentified network" still persists. Swapped to older linksys card and received same problem. Very strange. Flashed bios also. It looks like im stuck with 3gigs like i had been pre 64bit system unless I figure something out.
