PNY (nVidia) GeForce5700 Ultra and multiple monitors - fubar

Have had this v-card in for many months with no probs...
then went on to hook up a second monitor and installed the
latest nVidia drivers (56.72?) and now, whenever I try to
run a pgm, like IE or Outlook, it will start up, but
within a few seconds it'll hang and I eventually get a msg
about the error and whether I want to send an error
report... very frustrating!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
