iTask problems

Hi there. I'm new to this group but thought someone might have some
ideas in here

I've been using my Ipaq 3950 for a little while but only just
discovered itask. I have pocketplus installed but wanted a simple task
switcher. I thought iTask would work fine but
it doesn't work properly (I don't know if it ever did as I haven't
tried before - or if something else conflicts with it) I see there are
supposed to be pop up menus to work with in it but on mine the menus
are full of gibberish colours, or in one case 3 calculator icons. It's
guesswork as to which you would choose and for what. Also the system
tab which I assume would take you to the systems folder which could be
handy, when clicked adds a very tiny black box/dot just above it but
doesn't offer a menu or link.

Is there a way to fix this? I hate to a hard reset if there is a
simple solution. Also anyone know if there is any known program that
conflicts with itask

If not is there a 3rd party task switcher which does much the same
thing? I tried icbar but it keeps crashing my pocketpc (which is
running 2002 by the way)

last question. If I do a full backup and then a hard reset and then
reinstall from my backup will I simply reinstall any problems with
itask or does the backup restore not affect programs in ROM?

Thanks for any help with this issue

iTask is quite configurable, though it is not the friendliest process. There
is an iTask Settings control panel under Settings/System. If you get into
that and then select the Help function, it does give some good info. Play
with it a bit and see if it will work for you.

Yes I've checked out the help section and the configurations but I
don't think it's just settings as the menus are so garbled. The
configuration settings simply don't work the way the help file says
they will. I think it's corrupted but I don't know how to fix it

If it's that corrupted, I'd be willing to bet you are looking at a hard
reset to fix it. That of course puts you back to a factory fresh condition,
so you would need to back up all your files, make sure your outlook sync is
up to date and be prepared to reload all your apps. I don't think doing a
backup, hard reset and restore would help, because you would likely end up
restoring the garble.

ok thanks I'll plan on a hard reset when I have the time to rebuild it
all.Time consuming that's all. Was hoping for something quicker but
that's life. Thanks for the help
