I have recently become part of the movie making movement
using Movie Maker. Having purchased the firewire card and
cable, I was successful in downloading, editing, and
exporting back to my digi video camera a short recording
od say 2min. I followed the same proceedure with a 1 hour
recording and although the complete file was downloaded,
when I import the file (11 Gig) into moviemaker it only
brings in about 13 sec of footage. I can play the entire
source file in media player with out any problems.
Can anyone help?

After you import into MM is there a single thumbnail
displayed in the listview or many? If there are many,
try clicking on some of the other thumbnails with the
mouse cursor to see if more of the file is there.

MM automatically breaks the video up into short
segments. For DV the breaks are made at each point where
the camera was stopped/started.

There is only one thumbnail displayed. When i did the 2
min flick I did get multiple thumbnails, but in this case
I only got the one which is 13 sec in length.
Thanks for your response
