My son bought a game which will not load properly. The store says it may be our video card. Where do I see what card we have, how do I know if it's new enough for this game, and how do I update it?

I'll be so grateful for any help.

Hello it is just so easy to find out which is your video card type, just right click “ My Computer then go to the “Properties then followed by clicking the “Hardware then after it find the “Device Manger then you’ll found out the “Device Manger then you will find “Sound, Video and Game Controller just right click again and then you’ll see what is your video card type.

Thank you and I hope that you’ll get it.

Here is what is shows me; which is the video card?

Audio Codecs
Avance AC97 Audio
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Video Codecs

The game lists under Recommendedf System Specifications: GeForce FX 5600 or ATI Radeon 9600 Series Video Card.

I don't see those listed. Is that my problem? How do I get what the game needs?

thx Karen

Jeffrey lead you to "almost" the right place. In device manager, you need
to click on the little plus sign next to "Display Adapters."

It looks like this game requires a fairly new video card, with at least
128MB of its own RAM. If your current video card isn't up to the task,
you'll need to buy a new one and have someone install it for you. This
will cost more than the game itself, and points out why your son should
check the system requirements before purchasing new software.

Earlier you said that the game would not "load." Do you mean that you are
having a problem installing the game? If so, your video card may not be
the problem at all.

Regards,
Ian.
