Steam forced updates

Just for the record, since steam has released some updates lately.

I realized that running a game (e.g HL2) that has been pre-set not to
auto-update, will cause it to download the updates. whether u like it or
not.

To e-mail, remove the obvious

No, I think a bug report to Valve will probably be sufficient.
Failing that, we can all whinge about it here and hope that Valve will
be telepathically aware of the problem.
