Hi all,
Sorry this maybe a very simple question so please ignore
my ignorance if so. I am currently encountering problems
when I am double clicking on files, (ie video files .avi
& .wmv for example) through explorer to open them. What
previously use to happen was that these files would
automatically open up and play within Media Player,
however now I get the pop-up window asking what
application to use to open these files with. I select
Media Player and make sure that the option to remember
this setting for future is selected. The file then opens
up in Media Player and plays fine. However when I later
select another video file it once again ask what program
to use to play the file. If I use the option to play
selection from the leftside options of the Explorer
windows it correctly opens Media Player 9 and plays the
file without any prompting, the problem only happens when
I double click to run the individual file from the right
pane of Explorer. I have all the updates to Windows and
am at a loss to explain why this has all of a sudden lost
its ability to do this simply with a double click. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks all
