Seriously, I do have some issues with the British government, such as the occupation of Northern Ireland. But I hope I'm big enough not to turn that into prejudice or hatred against individuals.

My parents would be quite different. I went out with an English girl whose father was in the British Army, and I couldn't mention it to any of my relatives, especially my father. My family are predominantly IRA supporters, and you've seriously gotta be careful about what you say and who you say it to, even today.

Still, no excuse to be a jerk and proclaim hatred against the British, or anyone else for that matter. Take people as they come and you'll generally be OK.

When I toured Northern Ireland, I found the vast majority of people I encountered to be very friendly and kind, despite the fact that I was part of a patrol and the Green Army. Like you say, take people as they come and you'll be OK.
