I have a laptop running Windows XP Home and a desktop running Windows 2000
desktop. Both have firewalls set to allow communications between each other
on a wireless network using DLink DWL-650+ PCMCIA card in the laptop and
DWL-520+ PCI card in the desktop. I have setup accounts on the desktop and
laptop to allow them to communicate. All was working fine. Then I had to
restore the laptop and now, I cannot keep the connection to the desktop. I
create the mapping to the data drive on the desktop and the next time I start
up, when I look for the mapped drive, it isn't there. I try to remap the
drive and it says that the link is still active and cannot create a new link
even though there is nothing showing on the desktop, my computer or network
neighborhood. Can anyone help as this is driving me totally nuts?
