Microsoft mpeg4 playback shows pixels

When I burn a vcr tape to dvd using microsoft mpeg4 codec
it shows the pixels when I play it back in my dvd player.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

Buy a decent analogue to digital convertor. Make a mpeg2. Sorry, but that's
about all I can think of.
