My computer or for that matter any computer equipmented with a IEEE 1394 firewire card does not see my Panasonic Digital Video Camera. I have tried two different cables and recently sent the camera off to the manufacturer to have it checked out. How can I correct this problem.?
Thanks

guess it's not your camera's problem, must be some problem with one of your
device driver, try to check into device manager.

Find someone with a cable you know works and try that in your pc. Or use
their cable and pc with your cam. This should show where the fault is. Cheap
cables, especially 4 pin, I have found to be a terrible pain. I now only use
good quality ones, such as belkin.

To those of you who responded to my question thank you. Some have asked, "have I found a solution to the problem", the answere is no. I the manufacturer of the camera, Panasonic, has returned the camera to me and found nothing wrong with it. I have tried two different firewire cables with the same results...none.

I have heard a rumor that Microsoft is aware of this problem and has some type of a fix for it in their next Windows XP update. However for reasons beyond me they seem to be keeping it a secret as none of my inquires to them have yielded any results.

Thanks Pat O

your cam to and try on their system?
