im confused w/ my external hard drive

i bought a 120GB ME-720 series "External Enclosure", and i worked fine
until i hooked it up to my friend's mac (os 9 something) (i have a
windows xp), and when i did, it said that i need to initialize it or
something. i did that, put some stuff on it, brought it back to my
computer, and now it wont come up. the computer reads that a USB mass
storage devise it plugged in, but i cant find the hard drive. HALP!

When uoy first used it on your PC, you partitioned/formatted it in NTFS ,
yes?
And the you took it to a Mac running OS9, where it was formatted in
Mac-format, yes??
XP can't readMac, but there are programs for Mac that can read/write FAT32 .
Get that program for your friend and format it there.... (XP won't format
>32GB in FAT32)
