Hey all. Was trying to help the folks network two computers together and use one as a server for the other to get online. One is a P4, the other a P3 and both use Windows 2000. The P4 uses a 56K modem to get online using AOL. Both have a 10/100 Ethernet cards in them and I tried to connect them by cable that way, but couldn't figure it out. Again, I'd like them to be able to be able to share files through the network neighborhood and also find a way for the P3 to get onto the Internet (proxy server?). I'd rather not go the way of the router yet. Remember they have AOL. Thanks for the help.

did u use a crossover cable? U must use that if you are connecting nic - nic. normal cables wont work. Enable ics on the 56k computer and than tell the other one to connect thru a lan under internet options.
