Trouble updating BIOS, ASRock X58

Hi.

I have an ASRock X58 motherboard. I've tried repeatedly to run a BIOS update (I am on 2.6, and the most current is 3.4). But everytime I try to run it, I get an error message that reads, "ROM ID Incorrect."

If you have any insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

Rom ID normally means that the bios you are trying to flash isn't for that model of motherboard.

Can you give the full model number of motherboard?

Sorry for the late response--I just got the notification of it today.

Thanks for your response. Beyond the model name (X58 Supercomputer), it's an Intel® Socket 1366 Core™ i7 Processor Extreme Edition motherboard. Here is the link to it: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=X58%20SuperComputer

I even tried contacting the BIOS developer, AMI, and they would not help. I'm in this limbo position where the mobo manufactures updates don't work, and the BIOS developer won't help because it's not their mobo. Very frustrating.
