MOV files will not work for windows movie maker 2, does
anybody know how to chage the file name so i can import
them into movie maker 2?

You need to do more than just rename them. Search for RAD video tools which
is the free software to convert them to AVI. Otherwise the quicktime pro
would be able to do the conversion which is not free.

Also look at the www.papajohn.org and www.videohelp.com/convert
