Why is moviemaker only playing half of my movie?

when I captured it, i chose avi quality instead of recommended medium
quality. I thought that may be the problem was that the files were just too
large, so I switched it to window media files, but they still didn't play. I
also thought that my harddrive was too full, so i I deleted video files. Has
anyone had this problem and/or know how to fix it?
