I need to findout what type of hardware and software I will need in order to
import portions or clips of video into a power point presentation. I
currently have WinXp and a cd burner for equipment.

If the source is analog (ie a video recorder or analog camcorder) you will
need an analog hardware capture card or a graphics card which supports VIVO
(video in and video out). If the source is digital (ie a digital camcorder)
you will need an IEEE 1394 card (aka iLink or firewire) card.

For basic video editing, you already have Windows Movie Maker on your PC, it
is part of Windows XP.
