Hi. This weekend I installed Service Pack 2 for Windows
XP Home Edition. That was disastrous so I reinstalled
Windows XP from my disc. Ever since I have had a minor
problem with Windows Media Player 9 Series and Windows
Media Player 10.
Randomly, every time I try to access the program or a
file associated with Windows Media Player I keep getting
thrown to the last stage of the program setup - where the
program displays a screen saying thank you for choosing
Windows Media Player, and then a screen with two tabs -
one for Privacy Options and another for the Privacy
Statement. All of these screens have Back and Next
navigation buttons. So I click Next and I am taken to a
screen with two tabs - File Types and More Options. I
click Finish to end this last stage of the setup process
and the whole things begins over again - right back to
the 'thanks for installing Windows Media Player' screen!
Right now, rebooting the computer seems to fix this
problem, but it eventually resurfaces. I don't want to
reboot the computer because I have enough computer
problems as it is. Does anyone know how to fix this
problem, other than installing SP2 (which would be a
disaster seeing as it nearly destroyed my computer when I
installed it, for some reason).
Thanks in advance. My e-mail is elainemarias@hotmail.com.
