Can't save video that I can view from website - I can load
in on my WMP fine, and see it, but I can't save it for
playback offline.
I can find the file in the temporary internet files
folder - it is in a ?.dat format. WMP can't play it, even
after I try to change the file extension to other kinds.
The error message says that the codec is not supported.
Please advise on how I can save the movie for offline
playback. Can WMP save it? Or is it a new codec update
that I need? Is Quicktime Pro good for this? Or is
something better?

If the person who put the video up on the web doesn't want you to be able to
save it they set it up so that you can't, similar to copy protection. Where
is this video coming from?
