Hi, I have recently built a new system (12-7-10) and everything was working great. After I installed 15 security updates for windows 7 (12-15-10) I have been getting BSOD's ever since and also multiple programs have stopped working, such as AVG Tray Monitor, Utorrent, and Adobe Acrobat Speed launcher. I have tried restoring my system to before the updates, but I keep getting the BSOD's even without the updates installed and the programs are still stopping. Several BSOD's later, I have noticed very small differences in the errors. I have tried stress testing my computer with prime95 overnight and everything was still working when I woke up. I have also ran Memtest86 bootable disk for my ram, and there are no errors. After that I went on to checking my hard disk using windows check disk tool, and there was nothing wrong with that either. I checked my drivers and they are all up to date.

Blue Screen Details:

This Was my first blue screen I encountered. I was playing Battlefield Play4Free beta when it froze.

Driver_IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL
Stop 0x000000D1
(0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff88001a8c7a0)
Tcpipsys-address fffff88001a8c7a0 base at fffff88001a03000 datestamp 4c15a458

This is my second BSOD that I encountered. I think I was refreshing a page on the internet, but I am not positive.

Driver_IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL
Stop 0x000000D1
(0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000,0xfffff88001a8a7a0)
Tcpipsys-address fffff88001a8a7a0 base at fffff88001a01000 datestamp 4c15a458

This is the last one I got. I got this while i was playing Call of Duty Black ops.

Driver_IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL
Stop 0x000000D1
(0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000,0xfffff88001a897a0)
Tcpipsys-address fffff88001a897a0 base at fffff88001a00000 datestamp 4c15a458

I did notice the Driver_IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL, does that mean that I am having driver problems?
I searched all over google to try to find my problem, but I have no luck.
I really need to get this problem sorted out so, if it is hardware, I can return whatever is broken.
If you need any more details, please tell me, and i will do my best to give them to you.

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!
Thanks in advance and have a Merry Christmas,
Kling

@Kling this has happened to me as well and it's not memory failure (since the same modules work perfectly fine in other machines.)
I don't have a solution yet, but i suspect that it has something to do with registry settings made by windows update...

After the holidays are over, i'll probably try to reload my operating system if i cannot come up with a fix. I'll post my results or anything I come up with here.

IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL usually indicates a driver problem. Updating your drivers should solve this.

it might have to do with a faulty nvidia driver. The System Event that got logged was
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." Which is a generic Graphics error.
Im running 2 GeForce GTS 450s on driver version 260.99
@Kling: What GraphicsCard are you running?

Hi all. I had exactly the same problem, with my HP DV8 Pavilion. BSOD everything I tried to download something on Bittorrent. The problem is PC Tools Spyware Program, in particular, the inteliguard settings. You need to disable the Site Guard - right click on Site Guard and disable. The other inteliguards should be ok to leave enabled.

HP were useless to be honest. I've had my machine for about 5 weeks, went through countless reinstalls, driver upgrades - all on HP's recommendations. The last contact I had from them was over a week ago, saying they had taken my problem to the "next level" and that someone would ring me......no one has! I ended up solving the problem on my own.

Also note, if anyone reading this is having problems in playing blu ray disks, with the disk stuttering every second or so, Spyware is strangely the same cause. I don't know why, but you need to disable the program before installing the dvd software, then re-enable Spyware.

Hope this works out for you and anyone else reading this with the same problems. Paul.
