can anyone help? i cant play dvd's through media player.
it says i need a decoder or something. i hope i dont have
to buy one...please email me, thanks

Your DVD drive should have come with either PowerDVD or WinDVD.
(www.gocyberlink.com and www.intervideo.com). Install the software.

If you do not have your CD for either of these two programs, you will have
to purchase a DVD decoder, as it is not included with ANY version of
Windows. Either of those two links above will let you purchase just the
decoding software for about $14.
