hi,

i'm having this wierd problem on my dell laptop (winXP SP1)
-- during booting, it shows the "Starting windows.."
screen, and then the screen goes blank. I know that the OS
is probably running fine, since i can type keyboard
commands and hear beeps and sounds. I can book fine in safe
mode with/without networking, but cannot boot in VGA mode.
Restoring system to an older date configuration also did
not help. I also have linux installed on the laptop (dual
boot) and that works fine.

The problem started after i got a message which said
something like "Windows could not boot from the saved state
file since it has been corrupted...please restart the
computer to boot normally" (I think my laptop had gone into
sleep or standby mode and then the problems started after
it couldnt come out of the mode...)

*ANY* help will be greatly appreciated...

thanks,
-rita
